&lt;p&gt;Young Friends of Santa Barbara is a non-profit organization and was established in 2009.&amp;nbsp; YFSB is working towards giving back to our local community.&amp;nbsp; Through volunteering, mentoring and providing a vision, our goal is to help today's youth become tomorrow's successful leaders. YFSB looks to create programs, projects and activities for children, their families and those who support's them. We are dedicated to providing the information, support, and connections that families need to survive. Our programs will also provide parents and children with strong defenses against environmental risk factors by teaching appropriate skills for personal growth, family enhancement, and interpersonal communication.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;"The Mission of Young Friends of Santa Barbara is to give back to our local community through volunteering with an emphasis on inner city at risk youth development."&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2&gt;Description:&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We look to provide long term mentoring, tutoring and enrichment to at-risk youth, with an assured opportunity for a higher education. With a particular concern for at risk youth, we work to improve the conditions for all children.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2&gt;Services and Programs:&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;ul class="unIndentedList"&gt;
&lt;li&gt; YFSB will provide support in partnership with other organizations in the City of Santa   Barbara to help develop skills and attitudes needed to excel in both educational and professional settings.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;ul class="unIndentedList"&gt;
&lt;li&gt; YFSB will also help motivate adolescents against drug use and teach the skills needed to resist pro-drug pressure. In addition, provide youth training to increase the performance in social skills, social and emotional development and conflict resolution. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;ul class="unIndentedList"&gt;
&lt;li&gt; YFSB will also be teaming up with the Fighting Back Program to aid in after school programs that provide tutorial and mentoring services. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;h2&gt;Athletic events and activities:&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;YFSB will hold various events, providing our kids with the opportunity to learn skills from college and professional athletes.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Our first event was held on July 25, 2009 at Santa Barbara  High School.&amp;nbsp; Our organization offered a free soccer clinic conducted by two former Santa Barbara High School 2008 graduates who are current division one starters on the UCLA Men's Soccer team.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We received generous contributions and donations from The Home Depot, Santa   Barbara County Food Bank, McDonalds, Santa Barbara Bank &amp;amp; Trust and The Right to Dream Foundation.&lt;/p&gt;
